A.The key role of bearing cage
1. Keep the appropriate interval between rolling bodies all the time to prevent the rolling bodies from touching each other to reduce the friction force;

3. Correctly guide the rolling body in the no-load area to alleviate rolling conditions in bearings and avoid damaging sliding.
The cage should withstand the stress caused by friction, strain and inertia force. It also needs to withstand the chemical corrosion of lubricants, lubricant additives or substances produced by aging, organic solvents or coolants. Therefore, the design and material of cage are very important to its performance and bearing reliability.
B.The type of bearing cage
Bearing cages can be divided into stamping cages, solid cages and pillar cages.
1. The advantage of stamping cage is light weight and large space inside, which is convenient for lubricant to enter;
2. The solid cage can usually allow a higher speed. When the bearing has other forms of movement other than rotation at the same time, especially in the case of high speed, the machine-cut metal cage should also be used;
3. The pillar cage is fixed on the washer with the pin through the perforated roller. This cage is lighter and can accommodate more rollers and is only suitable for very large roller bearings.
C. Material of bearing cage
The key materials of cage are stamping steel, machined steel, stamping brass, machined brass, polymer materials, etc.All of Hongtai's bearing cage use the stamping steel,which we called SPCC.
Stamped steel cages have high strength and can be treated topically to reduce friction and damage. Machine steel cages are generally suitable for large bearings or not suitable for the use of brass cages; Stamped brass cage is suitable for local small and medium-sized bearings; The machine brass cage generally will not be affected by the lubricant of the bearing, and can choose ordinary lubricant cleaning, brass cage should not be used for working temperature above 250℃; Compared with metal cages, polymeric materials (nylon 66, nylon 46, etc.) cage has many advantages, such as good toughness, friction damage resistance, impact resistance, acid resistance and corrosion resistance.
